Dried Porcini mushrooms from Italy are pale brown in color with a strong, woodsy flavor. They have a smooth fleshy texture and the mushroom slices are about 1" in diameter.
Roland Dried Porcini mushrooms have a light brown, smooth rounded cap with a spongy underside and a thick, meaty stem when reconstituted. Porcini mushrooms are very fragrant and have an earthy flavor.
Preparation:
Soak in warm water for 20 minutes, then rinse and drain. Rinse well and blanch. Use as fresh mushrooms in white sauce, in an omelet, in provencal sauce, or to accompany meat or game.

Hard to find at this price! I try to keep dried porcinis on hand to add to couscous, sauces, stir fries, etc. Just a few add a deep, earthy flavor, unlike any other mushroom.
