Onions in Herbs and Wine

Easy side dish, also good as a topping for meat.

  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil *
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
  • 4 Yellow Onions, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon Oregano *
  • 1/4 teaspoon Basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Thyme *
  • 1/2 cup Dry White Wine
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste


  1. Heat a large frying pan and add the oil and garlic, along with the onions.  Saute until they just begin to brown.
  2. Add the herbs and the wine and simmer until the onions are very tender, about 10 minutes.
  3. Check for salt and pepper, you should need little.
