Mint-Cilantro Dip (Podina Chutney)

Serve as a side dish with curries or as a dip with Indian breads or even Pita bread.  Also wonderful as a dip with deep fried mushrooms.

Ingredients

Items indicated with an astrisk (*) available for purchase in the Avanti Savoia store.

  • 1/3 cup Plain yogurt
  • 1/3 cup Sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Onion, chopped
  • 1/3 teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 or 2 Serrano chilies, seeded and chopped (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt *
  • Pinch of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Fresh mint leaves
  • 3/4 cup Fresh cilantro (coriander leaves)

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until creamy check for salt, cover, and chill before serving.
