Black Bean and Goat Cheese Nachos

Do you love nachos?  Then try this trendy combination; you won't want to go back to "plain ol' vanilla."


Items indicated with an astrisk (*) available for purchase in the Avanti Savoia store.

  • Tortilla Chips
  • Black beans, freshly cooked or canned
  • Ground Cumin *
  • Leaf Oregano *
  • Minced Garlic *
  • Goat Cheese
  • Pickled Jalepeno Peppers, sliced


  1. Cook beans until very little liquid remains.  Season well with ground cumin and oregano.  (Taste for salt if using canned)  Then mash beans a bit with a fork; the resulting mixture should be very thick.
  2. Spread the chips out on a baking sheet and put a dollop of the bean mixture on each.
  3. Top each with about 1 teaspoon goat cheese and finish with a thin slice of jalepeno.
  4. Bake in a 400º oven until beans are hot and cheese is melted.
